This one was all about the process: foam, a soft towel, and patience on every curve of a car with a lot of them. Three moments from the driveway.

A new WRX is all angles: a hood scoop, flared fenders, cladding, a rear diffuser, and four exhaust tips. Every one of those edges catches dust and holds on to it, and every one of them is easy to scratch with a rushed sponge or a tunnel brush. That is exactly why this car got a hand wash.

The work went around the car in order. Foam went on, one panel at a time, and came off with soft microfiber before anything had a chance to dry. Doors, hood, and trunk were opened so the edges and jambs got the same treatment as the outside, and the black wheels were washed along with the body.

The result is the dark gray paint you see here: deep, even, and reflecting the trees over the driveway on an overcast Austin morning.
