What the Gold package does for a black F-150.

This detail was won in one of our giveaways, and the winner picked a truck that deserved it: a black F-150 FX4 with chrome trim, chrome wheels, and a tan leather interior. It is a great-looking combination when it is clean, and a tough one to keep that way.

Outside, Gold goes further than a wash. After the hand wash and wheel cleaning, the paint got a hydrating treatment and a spray-on ceramic coating, which adds gloss and about three months of protection from Texas sun, rain, and grime. On black paint, that extra depth is easy to see.

Inside, the tan leather was cleaned and conditioned, and the carpet front and back was shampooed and steamed. Light interiors show every footprint, so the difference between vacuumed and shampooed is plain in the photos.
